The development of Five Industrial Parks under Kabul New City master plan shall be soon commenced

Kabul January 24, 2016: Dipl. Eng. Alham Omar Hotaki – Deputy and Acting CEO of Dehsabz-Barikab City Development Authority (DCDA) met Mr. Mohammad Qorban Haqjo – CEO of AISA for the establishment of light Industrial Parks in KNC Master Plan areas. Initially, Mr. Hotaki Explained the Interface agreement which has beensigned between DCDA and AISA before and particularly focused on the responsibilities of both organizations toward the establishment of industrial parks. The planning for five industrial parks under KNC area has been prepared and two development models have made by DCDA one of which would be used for development of Barikab industrial park, said Mr. Hotaki.

Based on the researches made, the development of the first industrial park with an area of approximately 4500 acres of lands in Barikab would be considered. The first industrial park in Barikab shall be developed into 5 stages in approximately 5 hundred acres of lands for the first stage. Considering the planned developmental models and policy of the AISA the process will be commenced accordingly.

During the meeting it was proposed to set up a committee including delegations from Afghanistan Independent Land Authority, Afghanistan Investment Support Agency and Dehsabz-Barikab City Development Authority for coordination of industrial parks.

In the meeting, Mr. Haqjo appreciated the efforts made by DCDA for the development of industrial parks and expressed immediate cooperation of AISA with DCDA. On the other side, the initiation for the development of industrial parks taken by DCDA shall reduce the challenges faced the industrialists, said Mr. Haqjoo.

In conclusion, the technical teams of both organizations were appointed to have additional coordination meetings and how to allocate the budget and approach the development process soon.
