3 Construction of BRTs Kabul Kabul/Kabul The BRT Project consists of the following components:
  • BRT from Company area till the City Center (12 km long with 14 buses)

  • BRT from Mazar Bus Station till the City Center (12.5 km long with 14 buses)
  • BRT from Pul-i-Charkhi till the City Center (22.6 km long with 26 buses)
  • BRT from Char Asyab till the City Center (22 km long with 24 buses)
  • BRT from Darul Aman till the City Center (8.8 km long with 10 buses)

4 Construction of multi-storey car park City Center Kabul/Kabul The construction of multi-storey car park consists of the following projects:
  • Multi-storey car park at city center with capacity of 400 vehicles.
  • Multi-storey car park at Bagh e Ali Mardan with capacity of 500 vehicles.
  • Introduction of multi-storey car park for the first time in the country.
  • Decrease in roadside parking in the city center and prevention of resulting traffic congestion.
  • Providing opportunity for private sector investment in the service sector.
  • Creating new sources of revenues for the Municipality (tax payments by the private sector/Direct collection of revenues for the services)
  • The cost of this project is 3 % of total cost of projects within the Infrastructure Program.

5 Building a Wastewater System (Package type) District 10 Kabul/Kabul Construction of wastewater treatment plant for 300,000 users of district 10 with a capacity of 9000 m3/day within 0.8 hectare of land area. The project has been chosen as pilot project . In case of success, such system will be applied citywide in Kabul.

6 Transformation of Market Area into Central Business Area Kabul Market Kabul/Kabul Transformation of Kabul Market, considering opportunities and risks, shall be implemented in five stages. The first stage of the process consists of the following projects:
  • Transformation of Kabul Market area into central business area.
  • Construction of 740 residential apartments at Bagh Ali Mardan area.
  • Construction of District 1 Police Station at Bagh Ali Mardan.
  • Relocating the Court office to the Kabul Governor complex.
  • Construction of Money Exchange Center on government land.
  • Construction of Bagh-e-Omoomi Kabul.
  • Boosting the economy and providing a solid foundation for economic and commercial activities.
  • Providing shelter and housing for approximately 3700 people.
  • Upgrading and providing facilities in the concerned area.

8 Construction of Markets in the Suburbs of Kabul Botkhak, Char Asyab and Western part of the Capital Region Kabul/Kabul The Construction of Markets in suburbs of Kabul consists of the following project:
  • Construction of Market at Butkhak in 20 hectare
  • Construction of Market at Char Asyab in 20 hectare
  • Construction of Market at western parts of the city in 20 hectare
  • Accelerating economic growth and creation of organized zones for commercial activities.
  • Decentralization of economic activities from the city center to the surrounding areas for increased accessibility

  • Construction of Qargha Ring Road (4.7 km long and 18m wide)
  • Construction of secondary road (2.2 km long and 18 m wide)

The Economic and Recreational zone development project will consist of the following sub-projects:
  • Development of Economic and Recreational area at Band-e-Surkhab
  • Development of the first phase of Surkhab Research Center.

    1. Plantation of the hill close to the research center
