Abdul Sami Stanekzai son of Abdul Jaleel Stanekzai was born in the year 1366 (1987 A.D) in Nerkh district of Maidan Wardak Province. After successful completion of high school he started his Bachelors study in engineering faculty of Kabul University (KU). He got his Bachelor of Engineering degree from KU in 2011. After graduating from KU he joined ESCC construction-start-up firm as CEO where he implemented projects funded by the US Army and the Afghan government including the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Energy and Water.
For two years, Mr. Stanekzai worked with the State Corps Inc on different management positions for USACE projects where he conducted trainings, recruited teams as well as designed and monitored the quality of the projects. Practical experience in the field of engineering as well as his strong academic background led him to receiving a Fulbright Scholarship to the US.
Mr. Stanekzai is a Fulbright alumnus with a Master of Science, MSc, in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from Old Dominion University of Virginia, U.S.A. In 2016, his paper on Gravity Model Extension for the Impact of Mega Sports Events on Tourist Flow was accepted to International Conference on Business, Management, and Governance. Subsequently, his paper was published by the International Journal of Economics, Business and Management.
Passionate to serve his home country, he returned to Afghanistan to assist the National Unity Government’s reform agenda by commencing his work as the Director of Systems and Process Re-engineering Directorate at the Administrative Office of the President (AOP). There his focus was to assist the AOP team in managing the oversight of information collection and analysis of all government institutions until he was appointed as acting CEO of the Capital Region Development Authority as per the presidential Decree No 43 Dated 07-Aug-2018.
Mr. Stanekzai has written scientific research papers in the fields of science and engineering in English language which has been published in reputable international journals.
